I have been running Linus Mint 6 - and it is a real Windows rival. It runs just fine on this 650 mHz PIII with 512 MB RAM, in its dual-boot, over-windows, without partitions installation. You are looking at crashless operation of the following applications (windows back to front): RythmBox Music Player using my Last.fm account to create artists-like _x automatic playlists, Remote Desktop to my WinXP Pro home computer that is running 16 web pages on Google Chrome & Twitterlicious, Mozilla Firefox with 11 web pages open, OpenOffice Spreadsheet with my schedule and plans for my teaching day, and the applications menu launced from the taskbar. Geeky! Cool! Highly suggest you try this OS if you have the time and a little bit of computer wrenching knowledge.
